Bun in the Oven (Still)

July 3rd, 2010 by PepsiChic

Im off work on maternity leave, but still no baby yet! Hes due on the 12th so im not too worried, nor is my obgyn. Still Im getting more tired and restless at the same time, plus sore all over. My back, tummy, sides and even boobs are sore and aching and having my bladder squashed is not the most appealing thing to deal with every day. Still it is what it is and im sure i’ll miss being pregnant once the baby is born (yeah right!).

I went into work yesterday to say hi, im already missing everyone – im sad i know, but im far too socialable to be sat in the house by myself all day long everyday till baby comes along. Plus everyone at work is so nice! Im glad i got the job at Tanglefoot, its not easy being from a completely different country and starting out not having any friends to spend time with, I didnt realised how depressed I felt before starting work, just having a bunch of friendly peopel to talk to every day makes such a difference. Thankyou Tanglefoot buddies!

We got the house we were trying so long to get, on a rent-to-own contract. Its a nice 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom trailer with an acre of land, huge swimming pool in a great little 10 trailer community. We’ve done a lot of work to the place in the last 4 weeks, we completely redid the celings in everyroom (except the spare room), which meant scraping off the popcorn celing, plastering, and then painting it white. Along with stripping wallpaper off walls, and repainting them all white and then the kitchen yellow, the living room is now orange and our bedroom is chocolate and turquoise. The house looks great and now the cabinets have food in them and theres dishes next to the sink and the cats are having a great time with this new found freedom….it feels like home! (not a construction site).

The yard is coming along nicely, Keiths been hard at work digging trenches in the spetic field, chopping down dead tress and chopping them into firewood for the winter (we have a nice big log fire in the living room) as well as sorting out the flower beds, and clearing away weeds and bushes. Hes also got a big shed to play with, which hes hung up all his tools in and once its been swept out and cleaned up his weight bench will eventually find its way in there.

We also have TV and internet hooked up, and the pest control company came out and sprayed the house so we shouldnt have a problem with bugs for a while. We have however, found out we have a guest living with us behind the oven, a little brown and white mouse. He teases the cats something awful and the girls are really not sure what to make of the mouse considering it was sat next to them eating some bread quite happily and they just sat and stared at it. Needless to say they arent quite the hunters cats are known to be. Im not actually too bothered by the mouse, he stays behind the oven and comes out to eat every now and then and doesnt seem to chew anything up or make holes anywhere. If i can catch him i’ll put him outside with his buddies in the shed – im opposed to killing him, hes harmless enough.

Anyway, cats have decided its time for a nap and I think they are right!

Independance Day tomorrow and we are off to MIL’s house to enjoy a BBQ and some fireworks. So happy 4th July tomorrow everyone and Happy Birthday to my big brother for today!

xxxx
