Christmas time
On 23rd December 2009 I celebrated my first christmas being with my husband, and my first christmas in the USA.
We got home from work on the 22nd late at night and stayed up till 5am when my kid brother came into the room to tell us santa had been and we have to go upstairs with everyone else to open presents.
we emerged upstairs and presents were handed out, photos were taken and the kittens tried to eat the decorations on the christmas tree. After a game of battleships, a apple and banana we retired to bed at 8am till dinner.
4pm comes around and a call from MIL to tell us dinner is done. A family friend came over and we ate turkey, potatoes, sweetcorn, stuffing, gravy etc. The kids pulled some christmas crackers ( a british thing) and we sat and played games with everyone for a while, before washing the dishes and heading downstairs to install the PC games we had got as presents.
I built the kitties new playhouse they got for christmas, a pirate ship which they love. We played video games untill about midnight before going to bed because keith had work at 10am.
I had a good christmas here, I enjoyed the fun and excitment the kids had, I loved watching the kitties messing around with the wrapping paper and I enjoyed being with Keith.
Today is the 25th December, so the real christmas day I slept for the majority of it after being incredibly ill yesterday and have been up coughing and runny nose and watery eyes all day.
I did however call my dad for over an hour which was really nice. I do miss my mums cooking, and the english breakfast on christmas morning was sorely missed. Also seeing my brother was something i missed, he always made me laugh. not to mention the traditions that we have in britain and not here in the USA.
It was good to talk to my family today, and it was a great christmas with the In-Laws and hubby and the kitties of course!
