1st Month:Milestones
Friday, September 3rd, 2010Everyone mentions “milestones” in their lifes, like getting a new job, or travelling to a new country or getting married. For a baby a milestone is a lot smaller an achievement, but still just as amazing.
During the first month of my little mans life he has already reached a bunch of milestones like:
*rolling back to belly
*rolling belly to back
*rolling from either side onto back or belly
*holding his head up steadily for 5-10 minutes at a time
*pushing his head and shoulders up with his arms when lying on his belly
*grabbing at hanging toys
*sucking his fist
*immitating
*turning towards my or keiths voice
*smiling
*laughing
*making cooing and ahhing noises
These last 4 are my favourites if i had to pick. I love the fact that Barry turns to look at me or keith if we talk, and his smile is infectious, as is his gorgeous little laugh. He loves to “talk” his baby talk, making cooing and ahhing noises and lots of others, he does this mainly in response to being talked to. Its really adorable!
How much he has changed in a month is insane, he’s grown so much and his facehas changed shape, the newborn puffiness is gone and his hair is thining out. He has so much more control over his movement, and he has different cries for different things.
In a couple of weeks he has his 2 month check up. Im DREADING it. He gets 3 shots and a drink forhis vaccinations, Keith will have to take him in and i’ll wait in the waiting room because i think id knock out the doctor the moment he makes my baby cry!
Any way thats the update for now, Im doing fine if anyone wants to know, as is keith. Or household now contains us, baby, 3 cats, 2 roomates and a dog. its a fullhouse!
Uncle ed also came to visit for a few days which was great, i miss him!
