Cuddle Power!

November 18th, 2011 by PepsiChic

I realize I need to make a better consious effort to keep this updated, life has been BUSY!

Barry has realized just what cuddles are, which is great, it means that everytime I reappear from say the bathroom or the office, he runs over and climbs on my lap for a big cuddle. Cute right? Its about time!!! Oh yes I have waited for this moment since the day he was born to not only give cuddles but to get some back! Yipee!!!!!!!!!!

The only issue is….the cats arent so happy that they too get a few cuddles from Barry…maybe time to invest in some cat shapped soft toys?

“My toddler can X,Y Z”

September 16th, 2011 by PepsiChic

So many times I hear “My toddler can…”

well guess what? My toddler CANT!

So today reading on Bnb forums I see yet another worried mother of a toddler comparing her daughter to someone elses child, Im not speaking badly about this person AT ALL, I think for a while even I began to doubt my toddlers development here and there and comapred him, like so many do, to other toddlers.

The reason Im bringing up this subject though is because I wonder how many of those mums sit back and think “well they can only say 3 words now….they’ll still only know 3 words when they are 10 if i dont something about it!” I mean think about it in the bigger picture, not being able to say the word “Ball” now, certainly doesnt mean then as a teenager your child wont be able to say the word “Ball” now of course im talking about the average healthy child. Obviously if your child has a disability or development issue that very well maybe be the case.

As parents we have one of the most stressful and worrying jobs in the world…so why on earth do we go and pile on extra stress int he forms of comparison?

You know what ladies, its time to sit back, put your feet up and stop worrying about what they cant do, and be proud abotu the things that they can do!

Answer me this…how many times have you really compared your toddler? (come on be honest!) and what aspects of them were you comparing?
